Scott Darling can be Blackhawks’ backup goalie, but his new mask All-Star quality material.

27-year-old netminder has unveiled a new headdress this week ahead of a preseason NHL, and it shows an amazing tribute to the 1992 hit film “Wayne’s World”. Pictured on the side of the helmet, both Wayne (Mike Myers) and Garth (Dana Carvey) in all its goofy glory.
NHL franchise and classic comedy will be forever linked, and both Myers and Carvey put Blackhawks jerseys for scenes in the movie, which was established in the city of Aurora, Illinois. The film also features a fictional donut shop called “Mikita Donuts in” (after the Blackhawks legend, obviously) and the logo with pride showed on the mask shop Darling.
It’s always interesting to see how creative the goalkeepers get their mask art, and it’s even cooler when the structural elements may be associated with the city or organization that plays goalie for. So I guess you could say that the new mask Darling is … fine.
